LOOKING AT DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF THE GODDESS ENERGY, SEEING HOW THEIR STRENGTHS AND VULNERABILITIES MANIFEST IN OUR LIVES, AND WORKING WITH INTEGRATING THE PARTS OF OURSELVES THAT WE MAY NOT BE CONSCIOUSLY WORKING WITH. A GREAT WORKSHOP FOR UNDERSTANDING AND LETTING GO OF OUR NEED TO BE COMPETITIVE AND ENVIOUS OF OTHERS AS WE SEE AND FEEL AND EXPRESS A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF OURSELVES AS INDIVIDUALS AND THE COMPLEMENTARY AND DIVERSE ENERGIES OF OTHERS, OUR SOUL SISTERS, AND BROTHERS.
Finding my Inner Goddess
This was my first workshop with Christine, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was a bit nervous but also very excited. I attended with a friend and her mother, and my friend had chosen the Goddess theme for the day. I was very happy with this, as it was a new idea for me.
The atmosphere was very relaxed from the outset – we started with coffee and biscuits, then sat round the table while Christine talked to us about the different Goddesses from classical mythology. This was very thought-provoking as we were encouraged to explore our own ways of being and behaving in relation to the Goddesses’ various attributes.
After a short break, we sat in a circle in Christine’s lovely workroom, while she took us through a guided meditation in which we experienced a rainbow of colours and met the Goddesses, each of whom gave us a gift to take away. It was then time to start painting! We each chose a canvas and Christine demonstrated ways of starting off that took away the fear of the blank sheet in front of us. She had made it clear that no artistic talent was required!
The only way I could overcome my hesitancy was to gather my energy and go for it. I chose a large canvas and bright colours and started making bold shapes. I started with a shell, which was one of the images from my meditation, but then painted over it with swirls of red, yellow and orange. Gradually a woman’s face emerged, and her hair flowed over to join the shapes I had already made. Half way through the exercise, I realised that the swirls I had made had begun to resemble two very different breasts, and that I had made a painting that explored my experience with breast cancer sixteen years ago. This was an amazing moment and I felt quite overwhelmed, as if I had created a canvas which radiated self-healing.
When we had all finished, we viewed one another’s paintings and, with Christine’s guidance, discussed our responses to our own and others’ work. Again this was very illuminating and positive.
I went away from the day feeling wonderfully relaxed and had a great night’s sleep. I can’t wait for my next workshop!
I loved the Goddess workshop. I didn't know much about all the various Goddesses but Christine explained a lot in detail and I read up alot afterwards. I can thoroughly recommend this workshop to help you feel empowered - it's awesome and the goddess energy radiating afterwards was totally amazing - it was simply oozing and I felt fantastic!!!!
