Most of the work has a starting point in the material world, from direct experience of particular places , events or objects;, be it the earth, sea, air, water, interiors, studio, a sunflower field, bunches of flowers, journeys on boats, unexpected gifts, motherhood, pathways, trees or churches and sacred spaces.
Much of the desire to convey the joy of the world came from realising the absolute gift of being here, after experiencing a car accident and long period in hospital, aged 18. It opened her eyes more fully to the beauty and the absolute miracle of nature and living, and this led to a real commitment to celebrating the many emotions and experiences of life through her work as a painter.
The use of beautiful colours and allowing the painting to develop a life of its own bring a deeper experience of the peace, joy, love and sheer miracle of life and its healing nurturing energy .
Her own journey and experience as a healer led to some of the paintings developing more directly from the mystical and spiritual realms, a single radiating angel, an open healing heart, a spinning chakra, the divine feminine, the goddess, a nature spirit watching over a flower.
Christine trained to be a registered homeopath and Australian flower essence practitioner over 10 years ago , while still painting, and this has led to a deeper interest in creative healing and working with people on many levels.
The development of her healing painting workshops has been a direct result of a desire to bring together the healing and the creativity. The realisation that there is a profound opportunity for people to heal using their creativity, and how incredibly powerful and potentially healing the images we create and live with everyday really are.
Christine trained at Cheltenham and West Surrey colleges of art (BA Hons fine art), has work in private collections in Great Britain, Australia, America, Japan and Europe.
